Where Is Language Year?

Once again, life has taken its toll, and this blog has had to take a back seat.  My boss reminded me this morning that I have to oversee the development of 2 new websites, negotiate our organization’s acquisition of new office space, and take 3 trips out of town, all in the next month.  So, for my readers, I am very sorry about my recent absence, but, as you can see, it appears life has had other plans over the past several weeks.

To answer the question in the title of this post, lately I have been at the movies.  For the next few days, something called the Sarajevo Film Festival is in town, an event that draws actors, directors, and other artists from around the region and the world each year in July.  So far, I have been able to see two of the films shown here — both in foreign languages (one in French/Spanish and the other in Slovenian).  The film we saw last night was especially thought-provoking; it is called Izlet (or, The Trip), and is a Slovenian film about three college-aged Slovenians who journey together and find themselves in the process.

So, that’s my update.  I will continue to be irregular through the next month.
